Women’s Handball Cup : Cameroon Ends With Another Defeat

After suffering two defeats in the second round the Lionesses lost to Senegal 22-20 in a game of honour at the Gothenburg Arena on Monday December 11, 2023.

 

The national women’s handball team has come to the end of road at the ongoing Women’s Handball World Cup in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The Lionesses were eliminated in the eighth finals of the competition. It was a historic qualification for the Lionesses who reached the second of the World Cup for the first time. The Lionesses beat Paraguay 26-23 in the last group B game to reach the second round. During the eighth finals, Cameroon suffered two defeats against Sweden and Croatia in their group.
The Lionesses tasted defeat against Croatia. This result led to their exit from the tournament. The game which was a part of the second day of the main round, concluded with a score line of 13-24 in favour of Croatia. The Lionesses put up a brave fight against Croatia but could not prevent the defeat in the main round. They were equally beaten 22-20 during a match of honour against Senegal on Monday, December 11, 2023 at Gothenburg Arena in Sweden.  The Lionesses failed to make up for the loss after recording several defeats in the competition. At the end of these eighth finals only the top two teams in each pool will continue their adventure.
