Health Promotion : Centre Regional Fund Evaluates Activities

The Governor of the Centre Region presided at the 12th ordinary session of the Fund yesterday, December 14, 2023 in Yaounde.


The Governor of the Centre Region, Naseri Paul Bea has urged committee members of the Centre Regional Fund for Health Promotion to work in ensuring that everyone in the nooks and crannies of the region benefit from the health services of the system. He was speaking on Thursday, December 14 in Yaounde as he presided over the 12th ordinary session of the Fund meant to examine a draft budget for 2024.   
Speaking to the public corporate dialogue structure set up by a constituent agreement of the State, the technical/financial partners, and the Centre Region community, Naseri Paul Bea lauded the activities of the Fund in 2023 while reiterating the importance of the yesterday’s session which was holding within the pilot phase of the Universal Health Care policy.
The Administrator of the Fund in the Centre Region, Dr Lucien Mama said in 2023, the Fund carried out major actions to ensure that essential drugs were available in all private and public health structures in the Centre Region. Before now, due to lack of dynamism amongst members in the Fund, only two per cent of health structures in the region could obtain essential drugs. However, Dr Lucien Mama said during 2023, they were able to cover up to 15 per cent of health structures in the region. He underlined that there is need for health structures to obtain drugs from the Centre Regional Fund because that is where people will find quality drugs at an affordable price.
