Reconstruction, Development of NW/SW : Another Strategic Partner Embraces Presidential Plan

The Islamic Development Bank has made available over FCFA 21 billion to support government’s measures at rebuilding the crisis-affected regions.


Another partner of Cameroon has made available financial resources for the refurbishment of the North West and South West Regions, within the framework of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development (PPRD) of the crisis-affected regions. The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) is providing FCFA 21 billion 150 million for this Plan.
The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, presided at the launching ceremony of the IsDB-PPRD support project yesterday December 18, 2023 at the Star Building. The project which has a three-year duration (December 2023-December 2026) has the objective to contribute to a peaceful and inclusive society through the restoration and provision of basic services by reconstructing infrastructure, revitalizing the local economy and strengthening social cohesion through increased community engagement. Aligned to the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 and integrated at the humanitarian-development-peace nexus, the project will be implemented in 47 Council (24 in the North West and 23 in the South West Region) to the benefit of an estimated three million people (1.8 million direct beneficiaries and 2.2 indirect beneficiaries).
