Prime Minister’s Office : Deserving Officials Decorated

The Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday December 21, 2023 affixed medals on some 40 staff at the Star Building within the context of the May 20, 2023 National Day.


Some forty staff at the Prime Minister’s Office have been decorated with medals awarded them by the President of the Republic through a decree on November 21, 2023. The medals were being awarded within the framework of the May 20, 2023 National Day. The Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute affixed the medals on the recipients yesterday December 21, 2023 and congratulated each of them.
A total of three different categories of medals were awarded which included the National Order of Valour, Order of Cameroonian Merit and Medal of Public Forces. As concerns the first category, one of the Chargé des Missions at the Prime Minister’s Office, Nguele Abada Marcelin was decorated Commander of the National Order of Valour, the only person in the said category. Four officials were decorated Officer of the National Order of Valour, amongst them the Special Adviser at the Prime Minister’s Office, Frederic Mbotto Edimo. Some nine persons received their medals as Knight of the National Order of Valour.
In the second category, one person was decorated Commander of the Order of Cameroonian Merit, in the person of Beng Zoah Damase, the driver of the Prime Minister. Wearing his medal, the Prime Minister said “he has been my collaborator for the past 32 years.” The ceremony was void of speeches and it was the only sentence made by the Head of Government besides the word congratulations, which he said to all recipients.
