Bwang-Bakoko : Population Appreciate Government Efforts

The IG in the Littoral Governor's office has asked the industries to rehabilitate roads and desist for non-environmental friendly activities that make life uncomfortable.


The population of Bwang-Bakoko in the Douala III sub division have appreciated the administration of the Littoral region for their timely intervention and steps taken for the industries illegally installed in Bwang-Bakoko to ensure that they live in peace and in a safe environment. This was during a meeting in Bwang-Bakoko presided at by the Inspector General- IG in the Littoral Governor's office, Simplice Kengne, on December 20, 2023.
It is on record that the population of Bwang-Bakoko has complained to the authorities on the activities of the industries which are making life unbearable for them. They include the destruction of roads, environmental pollution and a lot more. With this, a commission was put in place and it also discovered that the industries have no legal papers to operate in Bwang-Bakoko. As such, the industries were asked to leave the place and follow up their papers.
While waiting to be relocated, the industries were asked to rehabilitate the roads and stop any activities that are damaging the environment thus affecting the lives of the inhabitants. Against this backdrop, the Inspector General to the Littoral Governor's office was in Bwang-Bakoko on December 20 to evaluate the progress of the agreement so far. While there, the industries signed an agreement to respect the decisions of the commission and to construct the roads and desist from environmental malpractices.
