Head Of State’s Address : In-depth Analyses On PRC TV

The channel specialised in showcasing the President’s activities did a live streaming on the speech and first interpretations.

In cognition with tradition, the President of the Republic, Paul Biya always addresses the nation every December 31. This was again the case last Sunday as the Head of State presented a balance sheet of the year and projections for 2024. To this effect, a special deployment for the speech was done through the organisation of a ‘special evening’ that was live streamed on the presidential channel PRC TV. The highly-awaited message of the Head of State on New Year eve was showed on the channel with specialist in the different domains highlighted in the speech, giving first analyses on the speech. The channel which is a production of the Civil Cabinet of the Presidency of the Republic, created a little over a year ago, broadcast a special evening in three main parts. It was a bilingual presentation hosted by Ebenezer Winnyawoko Motale and Constant Ekollè. The first, which began around 6 p.m., was a tribute to Cameroon, presenting the rich cultural diversity of the country. Activities of the President throughout the year were also showcased. Amongst them the 2023 New Year wishes presentation to the Head of State by members of the diplomatic corps accredited to Cameroon and other constituted bodies of the State. Audiences granted at the Unity Palace to various personalities from Africa and the world to discuss issues of interest, the parade of May 20, participation in the Russia-Africa Summit and the Summit on the New Global Financial Pact in France, and so on were also highlighted in the broadcast. The second part of this special evening focused on the broadcast of the address of the President to the nation in the two official languages. 
After this major step, the third and final part began with some 12 personalities analysing the speech with concrete facts and examples. They comprised locally elected officials, General Managers, academics, clergymen and senior civil servant, each making a remark in their sphere of competence.
