Cameroon’s Embassy In USA : Ambassador Hails Newly Promoted Soldier

This was during a solemn ceremony on January 5, 2024 at the diplomatic mission’s premises.

Cameroon's Ambassador to the United States of America, H.E. Henri Etoundi Essomba, proceeded on January 5, 2024, to officially confer on Chief Warrant Officer Jai Erasmus, his new military rank of Sub Lieutenant. Jai Erasmus, one of Cameroon's soldiers serving with the Embassy of the Republic of Cameroon in Washington D.C., earned his promotion to the rank of Sub Lieutenant, following a December 29, 2023 Presidential decree signed by the Head of State and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. This decree promoted many soldiers serving in Cameroon and abroad from lower to higher ranks for meritorious services rendered to the nation. 
It was in line with this decree that Cameroon's Ambassador to the United States, Etoundi Essomba, on behalf of the Head of State, proceeded to confer on Jai his new epaulet in a solemn, short but very colourful ceremony, in strict military tradition, at the Embassy of Cameroon in Washington D.C.
