North West : Public Independent Conciliator Celebrates Achievements

The Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region which is part of the Special Status has been in existence for two and a half years now.


The Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region, Tamfu Simon Fai, during a dinner on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at his Bamenda residence presented the achievements of the Office of the PIC he has been heading for two and a half years.  Assembled for the dinner were political, defence, security, religious, traditional, municipal, civil society organisations and above all, Regional Delegates and heads of autonomous services.
After stating the missions of the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator, Tamfu Simon Fai dwelled more on the path covered so far to fulfil its missions. He said the Office of the PIC has become a new hope for the North West Region and called on all the stakeholders to assist the institution   in order to enable it guarantee sustainable peace and development in the region.  The institution stands for quality services which the Councils and Regional Assembly must offer to the population. The Office, he added, also stands for and with mostly the aggrieved, under served and the down trodden of the region.
Concerning concrete achievements, Mr Tamfu Simon Fai stated that as at January 11, 2024, the Office had resolved 111 out of the 120 complaints it received. He said that with the state of affairs, he can conveniently say that decentralization is a reality in the North West Region.  The Office has written and submitted two annual activity reports to the President of the Republic.
