UK-Africa Investment Summit : Cameron’s Participation Encouraged

The special envoy from the British government, Dr. Alastair Mcphail was received by the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday January 16, 2024.

The second edition of the UK-African Investment Summit is scheduled to take place on April 23-24, 2024 in London and is expected to bring together Heads of State and government from 25 African countries with British and African business leaders, amongst them Cameroon. Prior to the high-level get-together which will serve as a platform for economic partnerships of mutual benefits, the special envoy of the UK-Africa Investment Summit, Dr. Alastair Mcphail is in Cameroon to encourage the country’s participation in the Summit. Accompanied by the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Barry Lowen, he was received yesterday January 16, 2024 by the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute.  
Going by the statement of the special envoy of the government of King Charles III, he is in Cameroon for three reasons and it was extremely useful of him to have a conversation with the Prime Minister. “The first is to encourage participation at the highest possible level from invited countries like Cameroon, as I am here in Cameroon to do so. The second was for me to have the opportunity to explain what the Summit will be like and the third element is based on our vision of building modern partnerships of mutual benefits based on respect by listening to words of advice from the Prime Minister about how the Cameroonian government can partner with the UK to see a successful Summit,” Dr. Alastair Mcphail explained.
