North West : Bamenda II Subdivisional Officer Free

He was abducted on February 6, 2024 on his way to Nkambe Donga Mantung Division alongside other people.

The Governor of the North West Region Adolphe Lele Lafrique on February 7, 2024 disclosed the information that the Bamenda II Subdivisional Officer in Mezam Division, Manchang Nicholas Nkongho who was abducted the previous day, February 6, 2024 had been freed.  He said the DO and other immediate collaborators who were abducted were on their way to witness the commissioning into office of the new Senior Divisional Officer for Donga Mantung Division, George Magloire Bassileken on Wednesday, February 7, 2024.
Governor Lele Lafrique made public the information at the Nkambe Grandstand on February 7 as he commissioned the new Donga Mantung boss.  He said that the Bamenda II Subdivisional Officer and the other people were ambushed by terrorists. “Aware of the horrible incident, the Head of State, His Excellency Paul Biya instructed the administrative authorities and the security services to carry out a swift military operation in order to set free the hostages, “the Governor said.   With regard to the outcome, Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique announced, “As such, four hours later, we received reliable information that the said administrative authority was freed.”
