Matches counting for the third day of play of the 2017 National First Division Football championship were played in stadiums across the country on Sunday March 5, 2017. It was a hitch-free competition with all the clubs determined to win. In all, nine games were played with 19 goals scored and five draws recorded at the end of the third playing day.
The third day of play was full of tails surprises with newly promoted clubs in the 2017 Division One championship improving on their performances as compared to the previous days. Colombe of Dja and Lobo one of the newcomers this season beat the vice champions of Cameroon, Coton Sport of Garoua 3-1 at the Yaounde Military Stadium. The victory was the first for the club from Dja and Lobo since the beginning of the season. Canon Yaounde crumbled before Stade Renard of Melong, a newcomer, 0-3 at home, while Feutcheu FC of Bandjoun another new club held Bamboutos of Mbouda to a 2-2 draw.
