Bamenda Gas Plant Project : Promising Progress Of Work

The General Manager of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund, Okie Johnson Ndoh paid a second evaluation visit to the project's site on February 16, 2024.


The General Manager of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilization Fund, Okie Johnson Ndoh, the government’s structure in charge of constructing the Bamenda Gas Plant has expressed optimism that with the pace of progress and promises made, the Gas Plant will likely be completed and inaugurated before the end of this year 2024. He spoke on February 16, 2024 at the project’s site at the Banshie neighbourhoood of Bamenda I Subdivision. After a guided tour of the site, Okie Johnson told the press that, “As at today, the mechanical works realised is about 60 per cent.”  He specified that, “What is important is not just the buildings, there are specifically the technical aspects like the storage tanks and pipes.  We have been informed that they are being prefabricated.  By the end of this month they will be transported here.”  The technical team working on the project, Mr Okie Johnson said has given assurance that by the end of May 2024 nearly most of the storage tanks and pipes would have been installed which will bring up the execution rate of the project to about 80 per cent.
Judging from the work already realised, Mr Okie Johnson said, “Today, what we have seen is very encouraging despite the little problems” and to which assurance of solutions has been given.  “ Our objective is to have this project realised by the end of the year.
