Mt. Cameroon Race Of Hope : 29th Edition Holds Tomorrow

The competition which takes place in Buea, South West Region, brings together some 600 athletes from within and without Cameroon.


The successors of Adamu Issa and Tata Carine who won the last edition of the Mount Cameroon Race of Hope in the men’s and women’s categories will be known this Saturday February 24, 2024. The 29th edition of the race brings together some 600 athletes in Buea, the chief town of the South West Region. In the build up to this event, preparatory meetings were held both at the national and regional levels to ensure that the event unfolds hitch-free.
In Buea, the second preparatory meeting took place on February 20, 2024, chaired by South West Governor, Bernard Okalia Bilai. In an in-camera meeting, the various committees beginning from Libation, Entertainment, Track cleaning, Medical, Porters and backers to Security committees presented their state of preparedness. Various adjustments were made to make the race better.
The meeting comes to add to the first preparatory meeting held on February 15, 2024. It was chaired by Acha Gilbert, Secretary General in the South West Governor’s Office where he enjoined the people of the region to work in collaboration with concerned officials to ensure the competition records a huge success.
