Pan-African Institute for Development : Cooperation Avenues Explored

The newly installed Board Chair of the institution was at the Ministry of External Relations for the exchange of ideas on February 28, 2024.


Enhancing cooperation ties between Cameroon and the Pan-African Institute for Development, popularly known by its French acronym, IPD, has been discussed at the Ministry of External Relations. This was during an audience granted the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, to the new Board Chair of the institution for Central Africa, Fatumata Djau Balde, who doubles as the Minister of Agriculture of Guinea Bissau. The audience held yesterday February 28, 2024. Cameroon is host to the Regional Head Office of the international institution that has been in existence for 60 years. 
In Cameroon for her installation, the Board Chair said she used the opportunity to visit the Ministry of External Relations and express gratitude to President Paul Biya for all he has been doing for the growth of the institution. “In my capacity as the new Board Chair of IPD who knows the history of IPD since its creation, where one of the founding members is His Excellency Paul Biya, President of the Republic of Cameroon, I could not come to Cameroon for my installation without coming to thank him through the Minister of External Relations for all Cameroon has done for IPD, she told journalists shortly after the audience.
