ELECAM South West : Zofoa Njoya Sake Takes Office

He took over from former Regional Delegate, Mewanu Divine Mukoto, now retired on March 5, 2024.

Zofoa Njoya Sake has been installed as the South West Regional Delegate for elections management body Elections Cameroon (ELECAM). The ritual of handing over functions was performed in Buea, capital of the South West, by Dr. Erik Essousse, Director General of Elections Cameroon, on March 5, 2024. ELECAM Board members from the South West Region, Dorothy Limunga Njeuma and Christopher Tambe Tiku witnessed the passing over of the command baton among many elections stakeholders and observers in the hall of Buea's Mountain Hotel.
As new boss of ELECAM South West, Zofoa Njoya Sake has as assignment the material organisation and monitoring of elections and referendum operations, monitoring of voter enrollment, issuance of voter’s cards, and supervision of voter’s card distribution. The reception, management and distribution of the elections materials and documents in the South West Region are under his care. The computerization and management of regional voters will continue under his supervision. He will work to ensure the management and maintenance of computer network, drawing up updates and preservation of regional register of voters, and computerize management of elections and referendum operations as well as elections results among others.
Dr. Erik Essousse urged the new Elecam Delegate to lay special emphasis on maintaining smooth collaboration with stakeholders involved in the electoral process notably political parties, administration, judiciary, traditional rulers, media and civil society organisations. He called on ELECAM personnel in the region to remain discipline, respect hierarchy and be duty conscious.
