Cultural Gala Concludes Festivities

This was during a special dinner offered by the First Lady, Chantal Biya, in honour of women on March 8, 2024 in Yaounde.

The First Lady of Cameroon, Chantal Biya in the rhythm of the song “Afolo mön” by the artiste K-Tino, graced the dance floor at the Yaounde Hilton Hotel, alongside other women to culminate activities marking the 39th International Women’s Day in a cultural gala. This was during a special dinner offered by the First Lady of Cameroon in honour of women, on March 8th, 2024. It was a moment of total communion between the First Lady and her guests amongst whom members of government, the diplomatic corps, special invitees, men and women from all walks of life. 
After the over three-hour march-past at the 20th May Boulevard to celebrate the 39th edition of the International Women’s Day in Cameroon on the theme: “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”, the First Lady figured it out perfectly that the day could not end without a moment of relaxation and dinning. As such, the next stop was the Yaounde Hilton Hotel. The women simply walked to a bouquet hall of the hotel where a delicious meal was waiting for them alongside artistes and cultural dance groups.
At 4:00 p.m., the First Lady entered the bouquet hall to kick-start the evening which presented performances from the 10 regions of the country. The first phase was dedicated to a cultural group called “Yasadam”. As the group displayed, guests enjoyed the cultur...
