African Media Practitioners In Egypt: Unveiling The Cradle Of Civilization

In renewed strategies aimed at reinforcing existing ties with fellow African countries, the Arab Republic of Egypt is leaving no stone unturned.

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and his government are not only exploring and sustaining the ties that ensure effective and fruitful cooperation, but are also proving that they appreciate the important role of the media in this onerous task. In acknowledgement of this role, the Egyptian government has invited some 37 African media professionals from 25 countries of the continent to come see, live and share with their various audiences what makes Egypt a great country.
Taking off from the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs where Ambassador Dr. Mounir Zahran, Executive Director of the council for Foreign Affairs led the discussions on Egypt’s commitment to the consolidation of cooperation ties with fellow African countries, the programme for the first week included visits to important institutions where the visitors lived the realities of this great African nation.
At the Administrative control authority against corruption, the media professionals through presentations and video clips screened were able to see for themselves the strategies Egypt uses to combat and prevent corruption. The head of the centre, General Mohamed Erfan made it clear that corruption is a canker worm that must be fought out and prevented by all African nations. The video clips screened on this subject portrayed the dynamic manner in which the control authority is preventing corruption especially in the field of kidney and liver transplants by corrupt medics.
