Cameroon-AfDB : Innovative Collaboration Reviewed

Prime Minister Joseph Dion Ngute on April 9, 2024 granted an audience to the Vice President of the African Development Bank, Marie-Laure Akin- Olugbade.
Within the context of her working visit to Cameroon ahead of the inauguration of the regional hub of the African Development Bank for Central Africa, the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute, on April 9, 2024 granted an audience to the Vice President of the financial institution, Marie-Laure Akin-Olugbade, in the course of which both personalities discussed cooperation prospects between the two parties. According to her statement after the audience, the financial expert said she was able to explain plans that the institution has to significantly boost economic and social development. “We have to be creative and innovative in looking at other ways to support Cameroon. I was privileged to receive the guidance of the Prime Minister and indeed we expressed a mutual satisfaction with the quality of the partnership between Cameroon and the African Development Bank. It is a fruitful partnership which covers the priority areas that Cameroonian authorities are pursuing for the eco- nomic development and social pro- gress of Cameroonians,” she stated. The Vice President of the African Development Bank also stated that she took the opportunity to provide an overview of the cooperation between the institution and Cameroon. “I was also able to obtain its orientations and advice for the continuation of this collaboration. To date, the total portfolio of operations that are being implemented or in the process of being implemented amounts to about FCFA 1,500 billion,” she explained. Highlighting on the portfolio, she said it is diversified as it covers sectors such as transport, with a number of major corridors, roads in the South- West and North West Regions.
