OIC Council of Foreign Ministers : Cameroon Assures Hosting Preparedness

The first technical mission of the General Secretariat of the institution visited meeting and lodging sites and was received at the Ministry of External Relations.

Cameroon will on July 15-17, 2024 host the 50th session of the Council of Ministers of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). The high-level meeting that brings together Foreign Ministers and personalities of member States of the institution will hold at the Yaounde Conference Centre. Prior to the event, a technical evaluation team from the Secretariat of the international organisation was in Cameroon to assess the various hosting infrastructure selected by Cameroon. It is thus within this framework that the Secretary General of the Ministry of External Relations, Chinmoun Oumarou received in audience, on behalf of Minister Mbella Mbella the delegation led by Yousef Aldobey, Deputy Secretary General in charge of Political Affairs at OIC. The six-man delegation exchanged with the Minister Plenipotentiary on the practical modalities put in place by the government of Cameroon to assure a smooth hosting of the event. The Secretary General assured the delegation that Cameroon is adequately prepared to host the event. He used the opportunity to present the various potentials of Cameroon. The delegation visited the Yaounde Conference Centre where meetings are expected to hold. They also visited the different hotels where personalities and guests will be lodged.
