SOCILADRA : NW Regional Chief Installed

The new head of the National copyright organization, SOCILADRA for the North West Region, Sixtus Ndefru was commissioned to office in a ceremony at the Bamenda City Council Library on Saturday July 20, 2024. 
Commissioning Sixtus Ndefru to Office, the Divisional Officer for Bamenda II representing the Governor called on artistes in the Region to collaborate with the new administration so as not only protect their works but also give visibility to it. He said this was the first time artistes of the Region are coming together for such an event and thank the incoming Regional president not only for bringing together the artistes but also succinctly explaining the ‘Dos’ and ‘Do-nots’ to them. He said many artists fail to benefit from the fruit of their labour due to failure to protect their works out of ignorance.
The Regional Delegate of Arts and Culture, Comfort Mbonghe Wanje, said the installation of the SOCILADRA Regional president opens a new vista of opportunities for artistes of the North West Region and equally urged them to rally behind the president, fight against piracy so as to enjoy the fruit of their creativity. She said the Ministry of Arts and Culture fully supports artistes and called on the artistes present to be flag bearers of this message.
