Bamenda : Gas Filling Centre Nears Completion

A visit by North West parliamentarians and the CSPH General Manager on September 6,2024 revealed that 85 per cent of the work has been done already.


Construction work on the Bamenda Gas filling centre is near completion as an evaluation visit by Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement  (CPDM) parliamentarians from the North West Region in the company of the General Manger of the Hydrocarbons Prices Stabilisation Fund, revealed that 85 per cent of the work has been done already. The work site is as busy as a beehive as workers put finishing touches on the structures which have emerged from the six hectares of land in Bangshie quarter, in Mendankwe, Bamenda I Subdivision.
Speaking after the visit, the head of the parliamentary delegation, Hon Njingum Musa, said the visit falls within their duties of controlling government action and expressed satisfaction with the marvellous job done. He said when completed, the project will create jobs for youths in the Region and enable citizens acquire gas at homologated prices.
The General Manager of CSPH, Okie Johnson Ndoh said he was totally satisfied with the execution rate and quality of work of the project. He disclosed that most of the equipment for the project are already at the Douala Seaport from Istanbul in Turkey and meet international standards. He called on the University of Bamenda to inculcate training in gas management in their curriculum saying internship will be offered to students at the site of the project which he said is materialising President Paul Biya’s vision to provide basic amenities to the population.
