National Tchoukball Championship : Walya Tchoukball Clubs Are Champions

The men and women teams of the Douala-based sides emerged winners of the competition that took place in Yaounde on Saturday October 26, 2024.
The Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex in Warda was the venue of the national Tchoukball Championship that took place on Saturday, October 26, 2024. Organised by the Cameroon Tchoukball Association, the competition brought together 12 clubs from Yaounde and Douala. The competition unfolded in the men’s and women’s categories. Yaounde inhabitants had another opportunity to discover new techniques in tchoukball. It was equally an opportunity for other aspiring youths to develop interest in the sport. The competition marked the closing of the 2024 tchoukball season in Cameroon.
Several matches were played to give the teams a chance to reach the finals. In the women’s final, Walya Tchoukball Club of Douala beat Vogt Tchoukball Club of Yaounde 54-47 in tough encounter. In the men’s final, Walya Tchoukall Club of Douala beat New Generation Tchoukball Club of Douala 47-41 to win the title. It is the first time Walya Tchoukball clubs are winning the championship title. The victory puts an end to the domination by Vogt Clubs of Yaounde. The President of Walya Tchoukball Club, Nsangou Njikam said the strength of the team is solidarity, cohesion and respect of advice. He said New Generation has experience and that Saturday’s final was revenge.
