2025 CHAN Qualifiers : Intermediate Lions End First Training Camp

By beating YAFOOT in their last friendly (1-0), on October 30, the team presents a hopeful face as they close camp today at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo.


The Intermediate Lions of Cameroon wrap up their first training camp today November 1, 2024, as they gear up for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers against the Central African Republic.
The team, under the guidance of Head Coach Simplis Soh, were at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo to fine-tune their skills and tactics. To test their work, the Intermediate Lions played a conclusive friendly against MTN Elite Two side YAFOOT on October 30, 2024; which ended 1-0 in favour of the national team. This result tells of the evolution made by the boys of Coach Simplis Soh since the start of the training on October 21, 2024 at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo.
In all, the Cameroonian team played a total of three friendlies during this camp. Victories against Apejes of Mfou and YAFOOT as well as a draw against Fauve Azur are encouraging outputs for the Intermediate Lions. Coach Soh has had the opportunity to evaluate the 30 players called up for the camp and will soon finalize the squad that will represent Cameroon in the qualifiers. He emphasized the importance of continued hard work at the club level for the players, as the domestic leagues are imminent.
