Continental Development : Overview Of Russia's Involvement

A session and press briefing was to that effect granted by Russian and African authorities at the Sirius Federal Territory.


Officials of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Expert Council for the Development and Support of Comprehensive Partnership with African Countries, on November 9, 2024 had a special session on the country's relations with the continent in the present international context. Holding under the topic, "Russia-Africa: In the Struggle for Truth," the officials presented the actual State of Affairs, nothing that they respect the principle of sovereignty. It was moderated by Nikolay Novichkov, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation; Coordinator of the Parliamentary Group for Relations with Parliament of the Republic of South Africa and Parliaments of other countries.
In her introductory statement, the Director of the Department of Information and thre Press at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Maria Zakharova noted that the Ministerial Conference is dedicated to discussing a wide range of issues and make closer relations between Russia and Africa. She noted that they currently exist inter-parliamentary relations with countries, diversity of trade, bilateral meetings, political dialogue with the African Union, as well as humanitarian actions. To attest to the good relations, 49 of the 54 countries on the continent participated at the second Russia-Africa Summit in July 2023 and more that 170 intergovernmental accords have been concluded between Russia and Africa.
