Promoting Health : WHO Resident Representative Outlines Priorities

Magaran Monzon Bagayoko was received by the Prime Minister, Joseph Dion Ngute yesterday March 25, 2025 in the course of which he outlined his plan of action.
The Resident Representative of the World Health Organisation, Magaran Monzon Bagayoko has outlined his major areas of work during his tenue in Cameroon. This was during an audience with the Prime Minister Head of Government, Joseph Dion Ngute on March 25, 2025. Recently appointed to Cameroon and having presented his lettres of introduction at the Ministry of External Relations on February 17, 2025, it was therefore a maiden meeting with the Head of Government.
His statement to the press revealed that he was at the Star Building for three reasons; pay a courtesy call to the Prime Minister, present his plan of action as Resident Representative in Cameroon and express the gratitude of the Organisation to the government for their collaboration. “It was a courtesy call to the Prime Minister to express the gratitude of the World Health Organisation for the excellent cooperation with the government of Cameroon and to go over some health priorities that will be addressed during my tenue in the country, with the support of the national authorities,” Magaran Monzon Bagayoko said.
With regards to his priorities, he noted that they are formulated in accordance with the 14 main work programmes of WHO adopted by member States. Explaining further, the Resident Representative said it includes the promotion of health, which means addressing health determinants.
