National Unity, Solidarity Founding Policies:

The Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) has remained faithful to its founding policies of national unity and solidarity.
Supporters and friends of President Paul Biya’s ruling Cameroon People’s Democratic Movement (CPDM) will be celebrating the party’s 32rd anniversary, today, March 24, 2017 with calls to better foster its founding policies of national unity and solidarity.
The burning desire to stay on the foundation policy pillars of the CPDM is contained in the celebration theme, « All behind President Paul Biya to consolidate unity, national integration and social peace: guarantors of Cameroonians’ togetherness in harmony and sustainable economic performance.»
President Paul Biya while announcing the creation of the CPDM during the closing session of the fourth congress of the defunct Cameroon National Union (CNU) in Bamenda on March 24, 1985, clearly stated what the new party, the CPDM stood for and advocated. He told supporters that henceforth with the CPDM, they were to have new experiences. The party proposed to Cameroonians a new way of living together, understanding of their rights and duties, new concept of political militancy, more committed drive towards national integration ; guarantor of peace, stability and prosperity.
The CPDM’s policies of national unity and solidarity are enshrined in the party’s motto. President Biya in the Bamenda CPDM birthday event disclosed the motto of the party to be « Unity, Progress and Democracy. » He specified that the motto translated the willingness for unity that is constantly strengthened leading progressively towards a veritable national integration. The motto, equally demonstrated the resolution to build a modern Cameroon, capable of promoting individual and collective wellbeing through the equitable distribution of the fruits of economic growth.
