NW Regional Assembly: Youth Empowerment Targeted

The March 2025 statutory session of the North West Regional Assembly opened on Monday April 21 with determination to redouble development efforts.
Members of the North West Regional Assembly began holding the March 2025 statutory session on April 21, 2025. Dedicated to the 2024 Accounts and 2025 Budget adjustment, the people's representatives entrusted with hopes and dreams of the region, were called upon to lead with integrity, deliberate with vision, sincerity and serve with compassion, empathy and love. The President of the North West Regional Council, Prof. Fru Angwafo III said the House puts performance and relevance above bureaucratic red tape. He mentioned that there are stories of children who now attend school closer to home, patients who received care, farmers whose roads were graded not forgetting small business owners who can hope again thanks to the intervention of the Regional Assembly. In 2024, the Regional Assembly had 61 PIB projects and they were realised at 98% both physically and financially. It was an opportunity for the people's members to be briefed on the overall general performance following some key presentations. It emerged from the session that the Assembly signed a convention with the Local Governance and Resilience Project (Prolog) recently which was a prerequisite for the disbursement of FCFA 3.4 billion as funding for some five inter-council projects.
