Upcoming Presidential Election: NW CPDM Youths Raise FCFA Seven Million

The money is their contribution to President Paul Biya for the payment of the required caution for the upcoming Presidential election.

In what has been described as a pleasant surprise, the North West youth wing of the Cameroon Peoples Democratic Movement (CPDM) have rallied their peers including party hierarchy to raise funds intended to support the Head of State Paul Biya during the October Presidential polls. A total of FCFA seven million was raised and handed over as their modest contribution for the party’s Chairman to pay his caution for the forthcoming electoral exercise. This was during the North West YCPDM mega rally that took place recently in Bamenda. Mingo Pius, YCPDM Section President for Ngoketunjia I, spearheaded the fundraising initiative with the blessing of his party hierarchy and total support from his peers of the 34 subsections across the region. Thousands of party militants drawn from all the nooks and crannies of the seven Divisions of the North West used the opportunity to declare their unflinching support for the Head of State and CPDM Chairman, Paul Biya. The North West YCPDM Focal Point, Mingo Pius, presented key achievements of President Paul Biya which were considered as proofs and justification why he should continue to pilot the affairs of the nation, Cameroon. Mingo cited, inter alia, Paul Biya’s commitment to bringing lasting peace and development to the North West Region, the numerous programmes put in place to empower the youths especially the triennial youth plan and the completion of the Bamenda Gas Plant project which is expected to create many jobs for the youths.
