Commonwealth Business Summit 2025 : Cameroon Highlights Trade Opportunities

The Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu led the delegation to the meeting in Namibia.
Various potentials of Cameroon, as well as investment opportunities have been presented at the inaugural Commonwealth Business Summit holding in Windhoek, Namibia from June 18-20, 2025 by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu. As head of the Cameroonian delegation at the landmark event, the Minister also highlighted strides in digital transformation and improving trade with partners. Held alongside the Commonwealth Trade Ministers Meeting, the Summit brings together leaders from across 56 diverse member countries to explore practical solutions for inclusive, resilient, and sustainable growth under the theme, "Harnessing Commonwealth Trade for Shared Prosperity.” It aims to bridge the gap between policy and business, fostering collaboration and driving sustainable economic development across the Commonwealth. Business leaders, policymakers and trade experts from across the Gentlemen’s Club are using the platform to explore investment opportunities, digital transformation and the strengthening of supply chains within member countries.
The opening of the Summit was chaired by the Commonwealth Secretary General, Hon Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey, who noted that the Summit is a new platform designed to turn the Commonwealth Trade Advantage into real trade opportunities. “Let this Summit be a launch pad for bold ideas, for practical solutions, and for meaningful investment that transforms lives,” she said, adding that trade must work for all, not just for big companies in major markets.
