PPRD-NW/SW Projects : Significantly Contributing To Peace

Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute on July 4 and 5, 2025 undertook an evaluation visit to some projects sites in Bamenda, Tubah and Santa.
At the final lap of his evaluation mission to the North West Region, Prime Minister Chief Dr Joseph Dion Ngute who is the Supervisory Authority of the Presidential Plan for the Reconstruction and Development of the North West and South West Regions (PPRD-NW/SW) expressed delight with the its implementation and lauded its contribution to the return to peace in the North West Region.
Before the North West Regional authorities said goodbye to him at the border locality of Matazem in Santa on July 5, 2025, the last project he visited in the said town was the Women’s Empowerment Centre whose construction cost FCFA 82,472, 970. Amazed with what he saw, the Prime Minister said, “This Women’s Empowerment Centre is doing a lot to give women the dignity they had and to do better by giving them adequate training so that they can be autonomous and help themselves and their families.” The visit to the Women’s Empowerment Centre came short after the Head of Government and his entourage visited the synthetic turf football pitch in Atugolah- Bamendankwe in Bamenda I Subdivision. Talking to the press, the Prime Minister Dion Ngute said, “We were at the stadium in Bamendankwe this morning where we saw how this stadium is helping in social cohesion.” The stadium which is another PPRD project is estimated to cost FCFA 1,024, 612, 571. The visit to the stadium also provided the opportunity for the Prime Minister to on behalf of the President of the Republic hand over agricultural equipment destined to some 840 groups in the seven administrative Divisions of the North West Region.
On the general appraisal of the what he saw on the field, the Prime Minister said,” All the other projects we visited have been illustrative enough of what the President of the Republic decided do in creating the PPRD-NW/SW. Today we have seen that the PPRD projects have contributed enormously to gradual return to peace in this region.” Indeed, when he left the Ayaba Hotel on July 5, 2025 morning for the final day of the visit, he had a stopover at the Ecoles des Champions Nursery and Primary School in Up Station Bamenda I Subdivision and after that he also visited the Government Bilingual High School Bamendankweto evaluate the impact...
