Cameroon-Niger : Maintaining Stable Cooperation

Ambassador Tahirou Boureima was granted an audience by the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu on July 8, 2025.

Within the framework of strengthening cooperation ties between Cameroon and Niger, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, granted an audience to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Niger to Cameroon, Tahirou Boureima. The courtesy call from the Ambassador to the Minister was for both parties to review the path covered in bilateral relations. Diplomatic relations between Cameroon and Niger were established in 1960, and positive results have been realised in some domains of cooperation such as education, cultural, trade and security. For one thing, the two countries share a commitment to the non-interference in the internal affairs of each other’s nations. 
In the course of discussions, Minister Felix Mbayu just like Ambassador Tahirou Boureima stated their commitments to fostering cooperation between the two countries for the mutual benefits of their people. Cameroon and Niger have a friendship and cooperation agreement, including a trade agreement and protocols for cross-border movement of people and goods.
