The Regional Poles Talent Tournament which is at its fifth edition kicked off on August 6, 2025 and is expected to round off today at the Olembe Annex Stadiums.
The fifth edition of the National Football Academy (ANAFOOT) Regional Poles Talent Tournament kicked off on August 6, 2025, at the Olembe Annex A and B stadiums in Yaounde. The event, which concludes today, August 8, 2025, brought together the academy’s 160 best young male players from the U-15 to U-20 categories.
The players' main goal was not just to win the trophy but to impress the numerous coaches, scouts, and parents who came to watch. The tournament provides a competitive platform for coaches to assess their players' progress, and for players to optimize their learning and gain visibility. It also allows the academy to analyze how receptive the trainees are to the programme.
The opening game on August 6, 2025, featured the Far North Regional Pole against the North Region Pole. The official kick-off was given by Eric Binfon, Technical Advisor No. 1 at the Ministry of Sports and Physical Education, who was representing the Minister. He was accompanied by the Director General of ANAFOOT, Carl Enow Ngachu.
