Specialised Leagues: Electoral Process Launched

The designation of regional representatives of youth football and female football leagues will take place on April 6 and 7, 2017 across the country

 

Regional elections of delegates of female and youth football leagues has been slated for April 6 and 7, 2017. The announcement was made on Tuesday March 28, 2017 during a press briefing at the FECAFOOT headquarters in Yaounde. Speaking at the occasion, the President of the Electoral Commission of FECAFOOT, Mboudou Mbala, told reporters that work has been going on in the field for the past two months in all the ten regions of Cameroon in order to give an update of the efficiency of national youth and female championships in the country.
This entailed collecting necessary information from the regions and confronting them with information available at the FECAFOOT so as to know which clubs did not participate in the championship and what were their reasons for not participating. He further said from the information got from the regions, the committee came out with an Electoral College not only for youth football but also for female football.
The Electoral Committee of FECAFOOT has therefore proposed an electoral college in each region of Cameroon as concerns not only youths but also female football. “We have already established a calendar of elections which will concern the designation of delegates for the elective general assembly which will take place in Yaounde,” he said.
