UK-Cameroon: Investment Framework Created

It was made public on September 16, 2025 during a roundtable meeting at the Residence of the British High Commissioner to Cameroon in Yaounde.
In a bid to promote sustainability that fosters inclusive economic development in the country, the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and the ESG Management Services (ESGMS) in collaboration with the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the Department for Business and Trade, and the British High Commission to Cameroon have launched the Compliance and Investment Readiness ESG Framework (CIREF). This was during the United Kingdom–Cameroon ESG Trade and Investment Roundtable at the Residence of the British High Commissioner on September 16, 2025.
The Group CEO of ESGMS, Francisco Toju Matts Da-Silva, underscored that their mission is to explore investment opportunities for businesses, government agencies, and young professionals across Africa. While recognising that the continent has the most potential for ESG investment, he said it often lacks the ability to report on its progress. “Through a six-month on-the-job assessment training programme, individuals can be trained to become ESG consultants, filling a significant gap in the market. This as an opportunity to accelerate development, empower communities, and restore the environment,” Da-Silva a Da-Silva added.
