Social Dialogue : Trade Unions Urged To Uphold Exemplary Behaviour

The call was made during a consultation meeting with Workers' Trade Union Confederations and the Minister of Labour and Social Security, on Monday September 29, 2025.

The Minister of Labour and Social Security, Grégoire Owona, has expressed heartfelt gratitude for the collaborative efforts over the past seven years with the Workers' Trade Union. This partnership has yielded substantial social progress, notably salary increments, collective agreements and enhanced working conditions. He made these remarks on Monday, September 29, 2025, in Yaounde, following a meeting with Workers' Trade Union Confederations in the country.
Although there is still much to be done, the Minister of Labour and Social Security reminded the trade unionists of the challenges yet to overcome and the areas where progress has been stagnant. Minister Grégoire Owona discussed ways to strengthen government-trade union collaboration and outlined the government's expectations. He emphasised the importance of consolidating dialogue and social peace, promoting social harmony and development through lawfulness and non-violence.
