National Assembly: Five Bills Adopted In Plenary

House Speaker Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril chaired the plenary sitting on March 31, 2017.
All the five bills government has so far tabled at the National Assembly during the ongoing March 2017 ordinary session were adopted during a plenary sitting of the House on Friday, March 31, 2017. The House Speaker, Hon. Cavaye Yeguie Djibril chaired the plenary sitting in the presence of the Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform, Michel Ange Angouin who represented the Vice Prime Minister, Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Relations with the Assemblies, Amadou Ali.
The Minister of Finance, Alamine Ousmane Mey defended the bill to authorise the President of the Republic to ratify the convention between the Government of the Republic of Cameroon and the Government of the Republic of South Africa for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income, signed in Yaounde on 19 February 2015.
The Minister of Industries, Mines and Technological Development, Ernest Ngwaboubou defended the bill to authorise the President of the Republic to ratify the agreement between the Government of the Republic of Cameroon and the Government of the Republic of Korea for the promotion and protection of investments, signed in Yaounde on 24 December 2013. The bill was previously examined at the Foreign Affairs Committee.
