Potential investors looking for where to ‘risk’ their money in win-win investments can conveniently peruse existing opportunities in Cameroon and uncover what the country offers in terms of business-friendly administrative and legal instruments. These investment opportunities are packaged in an over 373-page publication christened, “Les Atouts Economiques du Cameroun.” The bilingual guide of economic potentialities is a publication of the Central Office for External Promotion.
In its 2017 publication (10th edition), with a foreword by the President of the Republic, Paul Biya, the book presents Cameroon’s general profile, organisation of the State and its society and Cameroon’s foreign policy. Prominence is also given to Cameroon’s natural resource potentials ranging from mines, water, energy and hydrocarbons to transport, telecoms and other infrastructure. Readers will also discover major sectors of Cameroon’s economy like agriculture, forests, livestock, fisheries, industry, handicraft, tourism and a host of others. In a the later part, the publication presents general investment principles and the country’s investment charter, foreign exchange system, costs of production factors, privatisation policy, foreign investments and the functioning of the money market; the Douala Stock Exchange.
