ICT University : New Vice-Chancellor Unveils Ambitious Vision

Professor Emmanuel Tonya was commissioned by the President of the Board of Trustees of the University last Thursday December 11, 2025 in Yaounde.
Professor Emmanuel Tonya, the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor of ICT University Campus in Yaounde, has outlined his vision for the institution, underscoring the significance of binding Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as a dual instrument for both pedagogical purposes and the production of goods and services that address the needs of the Cameroonian populace and beyond. He made the statement during his commissioning ceremony which took place last Thursday, December 11, at the institution’s Yaounde campus, under the chairmanship of a representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education.
In a statement to the press, the expert in telecommunications and information technology, Professor Tonya, declared, “My vision is to leverage ICT to augment the teaching and learning experience, whilst simultaneously fostering the creation of tangible products and services that cater for the needs of our community. ICT holds the key to resolving a multitude of challenges, ranging from education to economic development.”
The Minister's representative, Fongod née Augustina Genla Nwana, who is also the Director of Academic Affairs Coordination at the Ministry of Higher Education, read a formal letter addressed to the President of ICT University, acknowledging the newly-appointed Vice-Chancellor.
