Bamenda University : 6,000 Inclusive Job Creators Graduate

The award of diplomas and degrees took place on December 12, 2025 at the institution’s campus.

In a purely Anglo-Saxon style, the University of Bamenda graduated its 15th batch of 6,471 students on December 12, 2025. The ceremony was presided at by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Nkuo Theresia Akenji, personal representative of the Minister of State, Minister of Higher Education. “We are sending them out to a world that needs them because we can comfortably say that this batch of students has gone through experiential learning” declared Prof. Nkuo Theresia Akenji. 
The Vice Chancellor said the graduates have adequately been trained to embrace and provide solutions to societal problems, by so doing creating employment to themselves and others. Professor Nkuo Theresia indicated that they are confident that they are sending out job creators and not job seekers. Hence, the students are leaving with hands on skills to go out there and take up problems in the community, nation and bring about solutions.
The guest speaker at the ceremony, Professor Kum Awah, Inspector General of Programmes, Teaching Methods and Training at Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education in his academic discourse encouraged the graduating students to be entrepreneurs. He told them that they have capacities that they need to unlocked doors of opportunities. As such, they just need to change their mindsets and believe in themselves that they can create, innovate as they are potential enterprise owners and employers. He told the graduating students not to look up to somebody to offer them jobs but employ themselves.
