Presidential Election : CAMASEJ Evaluates coverage

This was during the launch of its activities for 2026 on January 4.
Members of the Cameroon Association of English-speaking Journalists (CAMASEJ) Douala Chapter have launched their 2026 activities with a “Professional Corner” session that focused on the evaluation of the 2025 presidential election in Cameroon.
During the session esteemed resource persons including Elisabeth Tabi of the Guardian Post newspaper, Peter Nsoesie from Dash Media and Kristel Asek from STV all shared their insights and experiences, during elections.
Discussions brought to light several key issues faced by journalists, including the challenges on the ground, limited access to information, the proliferation of fake news, and the influence of social media. Participants also examined how editorial policies affect effective coverage.
In her closing remarks, CAMASEJ Douala chapter President Maureen Ndi expressed heartfelt gratitude to all the journalists who dedicated their time and energy to participate in the session, acknowledging the vibrant energy and commitment displayed in the session.
