South West, North West Appeal Courts: Special Recruitment Announced

Public Service and Administrative Reforms Minister on April 6, 2017 signed an order creating an Ad hoc committee to that effect

 

Sequel to the announcement made during a press conference in Yaounde recently by the Minister of State, Minister of Justice and Keeper of Seals, Laurent Esso, that President Paul Biya has ordered government to take special measures in view of resolving concerns raised by Common Law lawyers in the two-English speaking regions of the country, effective and concrete actions are being seen to that effect. One of such special measures announced last week was the eminent recruitment of legal personnel to serve in the jurisdictions of the North West and South West Appeal Courts. To this effect, the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Michel Ange Angouing, on April 6, 2017, created an ad hoc committee in charge of the special recruitment of legal personnel of English expression into the Public Service for the jurisdictions of the North West and South West Courts of Appeal for the 2017-2020 financial years. “Article 2 of the Ministerial Order states that “the commission shall be responsible for the designing, coordinating, and evaluating the operations that would lead to the special recruitment of pupil magistrates and student court registrars of English expression into the National School of Administration and Magistracy for the 2017-2020 financial years.”
