Communication In Crisis: War College Students Schooled At SOPECAM

This was during a visit of the 21st batch from the International War College yesterday February 26, 2026.

The Cameroon News and Publishing Corporation better known by its french acronym (SOPECAM) hosted a delegation of senior officers from the International War College yesterday, 26 February 2026, as part of their study visit to the company. The officers, who are auditors of the 21st batch, hail from 23 countries across Africa and Europe, and were led by the Commander of the International War College, Brigadier General Valère Nka. The 54-member delegation was received by the Deputy General Manager of SOPECAM, Dr Shey Peter Mabu, on behalf of the General Manager. Brigadier General Valère Nka stated that the visit to SOPECAM formed part of the delegation's broader study tour, aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of Cameroon's media landscape and crisis communication strategies. He explained that the International War College's operational communication module focuses on strategy and the art of war, with the objective of equipping auditors with the skills to develop effective communication strategies during crises and understand the media's role in shaping public opinion. The Brigadier General noted that the delegation sought to demonstrate how to develop centralised communication in response to media requests during operations. Discussions subsequently centred on the theme of print media and information management in times of crisis.
