Commonwealth Foreign Ministers Meeting: Cameroon Reaffirms Commitment To Democracy

The Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu participated in the meeting that held on March 8 in London.

The 26th Commonwealth Foreign Affairs Ministers Meeting (CFAMM) which took place on March 8, 2026, in London, witnessed the participation of the Minister Delegate to the Minister of External Relations in charge of Cooperation with the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu, as head of the Cameroonian delegation to the gathering. It preceded the commemoration of this year’s Commonwealth Day, observed last March 9, 2026 and it is the second meeting the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, Shirley Botchwey, is having with Foreign Ministers of member countries. The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration, reviewing reforms, and preparing for the November 2026 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (GHOGM) to take place on November 1-4, 2026 in Antigua and Barbuda. Held at Lancaster House in London, United Kingdom, the meeting addressed the Commonwealth's role in a changing global landscape, focusing on resilience and sustainability. The Ministers also explored impactful and transformative solutions to unlock opportunities together for shared prosperity across the Commonwealth, in the face of a fractured global climate, most especially as the theme of this year’s Commonwealth Day is “Unlocking Opportunities Together for a Prosperous Commonwealth.” The objective of the high-level meeting was to provide a plan of action for a bold and practical Commonwealth.
