Managing Hydrocarbons Assets: Examining Better Technology Transfer Mechanisms

An audience SNH officials led by Mme Nathalie Moudiki granted ABC Maritime team in Yaounde on March 11, 2026, evaluated cooperation thus far and charted the way forward.
Cameroon’s National Hydrocarbons Cooperation (SNH) and a Swiss firm, ABC Maritime, have resolved to cooperate mutually for the good of both parties with technology transfer to take centre stage. The commitment was taken in Yaounde yesterday March 11, 2026 at the headquarters of SNH during an audience officials of the outfit, led by Mme Nathalie Moudiki, Adviser N° 2 and representative of the Executive General Manager, granted a team of ABC Maritime, at the head of which, its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Daniel Tanner. Addressing the guests, Mrs Moudiki saluted the collaboration between SNH and ABC Maritime, stressing on the need to deepen the partnership for better mutual gain. She said the meeting was an opportunity to see face-to-face and talk frankly and constructively on the stakes and challenges of their partnership visà-vis the management of the Rio Del Rey Barge which SNH contractually handed to ABC Maritime. In fact, Mme Nathalie Moudiki principally stressed on technology transfer and better communication. She notably underlined that carrying out audits is good but ensuring that Cameroon gets the needed know-how to function autonomously and communicating regularly on field activities would be better. Rejoicing over the hospitality of SNH and its unwavering pursuit to improving collaboration with its partners, the CEO of ABC Maritime said they are more than ever determined to live up to expectation. “We have been working with SNH since 2008 and we are supervising the new building of the Rio Del Rey where we have been operating the vessel ever since. We also accompany the dockings and special surveys of the Rio Del Rey,” Mr Tanner noted. On the issue of handing down the knowhow to locals, he said, “We are looking into technology transfer.
