Buea: City Fine-Tune Rehearsals

With barely a few days to the celebration of the 54th National Day, preparations have gathered momentum in Buea as defence and security forces intensify rehearsals to ensure a successful event.

Mobilisations ahead of the 54th edition of Cameroon’s National Day celebration have intensified in the South West Region, particularly in the regional capital, Buea. Military units have continued intensive march-past practices aimed at ensuring a colourful and well-coordinated celebration. At the Buea Bongo Square on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, various corps of the national defence forces, focused mainly on troop positioning and coordination. The march-past rehearsals to run from May 12 to 18, 2026, will culminate in a general performance involving both military and civilian participants.
