Meant to look after sick Marine soldiers stationed at Campo, the military clinic is highly solicited by the entire population.
Situated adjacent to the Campo Health District is the 11th Battalion Marine Riflemen Infirmary. Though small in capacity, it is of strategic importance to the entire population of Campo. The infirmary comprises two buildings, including Hospitalisation Blocks A and B, alongside a pharmacy, laboratory, minor surgical ward, maternity unit and toilet facilities. It provides medical support to both military personnel and civilians. “We welcome everyone here,” one of the military nurses on duty confirmed. According to the Unit Commander, Lieutenant Commander Voussou Bruno, the clinic is a flagship structure for army-nation relations, enabling the Unit to deliver healthcare to the local population. Staffed primarily by military personnel, it is widely recognised by the local community for its accessibility and humane care. There is no operating theatre on site. However, when surgery is required, the officer in charge and the team lend their expertise to the neighbouring Campo District Hospital.
