Local Administration: Simplified Military Training For NASLA’s Trainees

The training that began on May 24, 2026 at the Mutengene Police Training Collage, is expected to last 45 days.

Sunday May 24, 2026 marked a turning point in the lives of over 360 newly admitted young Cameroonian men and women into Cycles ‘A’ and ‘B’ of the National School of Local Administration (NASLA) as they began the Simplified Military Training (SMT) in prelude to their theoretical training. The 3rd batch of trainees for the Simplified Military Training arrived the Mutengene Police Training College early Sunday morning and were welcomed by Police experts who immediately introduced them to military procedures in the presence of the Director General of NASLA, Tanyitiku Enohachuo Bayee and the Commander of the Mutengene Police Training College, Commissioner Dr Pierre Nith. According to the Director General of NASLA, the training is intended to inculcate in the trainees some fundamental notions about republican principles, civil responsibility, general interest, and patriotism. By the end of the training, the trainees would also have a grasp of basic security and defence issues. Mr Tanyitiku further underscored that the training will mould the trainees into the future local public servants who are expected to have a certain degree of self-discipline and the capacity to withstand stress and take orders. The NASLA boss emphasized that the attitude and aptitude part of the training is crucial as it prepares them for the theoretical training in local administration governance.
