Buea: Muslims Pray For Peace, Unity

The celebration which took place at the Buea Islamic Complex Mosque under the coordination of the Imam of Buea, Alhadj Mohammed Aboubakar, attracted hundreds of worshippers alongside administrative, municipal, traditional and religious authorities. In his sermon centred on the theme, “Respecting the Laws of Allah,” the Imam called on believers to uphold the teachings of Islam and live in obedience to God’s commandments. Prayers were also offered for peace and unity in Cameroon, interreligious tolerance, and an end to hate speech, tribalism, nepotism and corruption. At the close of the ceremony, Alhadj Mohammed Aboubakar stressed the importance of sacrifice, discipline and mutual support within society. “We live in chaos because many people refuse to obey simple instructions. It is important to sacrifice for your brother what you consider good for yourself,” he stated.
