Digital Innovation: National ICT Contest Kicks Start

The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications outlined enrolment criteria during a press conference granted in Yaounde on June 22 2026.

The Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications (MINPOSTEL) in a bid to encourage ethical use of Artificial Intelligence that combats vices like misinformation, disinformatuon and fakenews in Cameroon, has launched the fifth edition of the of the Digital Innovation week. The national competition meant to select the three best innovative ICT projects, is set to run in three phases from June 22 to July 31, 2026. The maiden phase, dubbed the online registration of aspirants on the ministry’s website, is scheduled to run from June 22 through July 23, 2026, at 3.00 pm prompt. According to the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minitte Libom Li Likeng, 15 applications of all nationwide entries will be selected for the pitch phase and later the selection phase slated for July 31. The Minister further explained during a press conference organized on June 22 in Yaounde that 15 best projects will be invited for an all funded weeklong digital splint bootcamp planned in Yaounde. She further underscored that aspirants vying for the trophy must be of Cameroonians resident in the country.
