Bamenda Regional Hospital: Fire Guts Multipurpose Department

The population of Bamenda woke up on Tuesday June 30, 2026 to the unfortunate fire incident which consumed the multipurpose department of the Bamenda Regional Hospital. The units involved according to a release by the Director of the hospital, Dr Denis Nsame include: Main Drug Store, Conference Hall, Statistics Unit (Soft/Hardware), Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Unit, Offices of the Medical Adviser and General Supervisor, Office of Social Action Service, Library/ICT unit, (telemedicine), Hospital Canteen and the Chaplaincy. North West Governor Adolphe Lele Lafrique as well as the Chairperson of the Management Board of the hospital, Prof. Fru Angwafo III, who doubles as the President of the North West Regional Assembly were on the scene on June 30, 2026.
